Along with JavaScript: Visual QuickStart Guide, 8^th Edition, Tom and Dori are authors of the best-selling Dreamweaver CS5: Visual QuickStart Guide; Styling Web Pages with CSS: Visual QuickProject Guide; and Mac OS X Unwired.

They co-founded and share the long-running Backup Brain weblog. Their cat lives in California's wine country, and allows them to as well.

Dori Smith

Dori Smith wrote Java 2 for the WWW: Visual QuickStart Guide, recorded the video titles JavaScript Essential Training and Ajax Essential Training for Lynda.com, and contributes to numerous online and print computer industry magazines. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, she co-founded the Web Standards Project and founded the Wise-Women's Web organization. She's now a Technical Evangelist and Community Manager for Stack Exchange.
